I have no idea what’s going on here. I either haven’t been getting enough info on the future Soul Calibur IV game, or this was just a crazy broadside at CES. Just watch this if you have any interest whatsoever, I don’t wish to spoil the surprise:
Yes, somehow Soul Calibur will have Yoda and Vader. I checked the calender, and it’s not April 1st. So, yeah, I dunno. Soul Calibur 2 is still one of my all time favorite console games, and I’m sure I’ll play a bunch of IV. All I can think of is they are competing with the yet-to-be-released Super Smash Bros. Brawl from Nintendo, with its mishmash of characters in a fighting game.
I’m pretty confident both are still going to be a blast.

It’s the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. This week there is a celebration and convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center called Star Wars Celebration IV. A featured exhibit at this event is called The Vader Project, in which 66 artists were invited to submit their own version of the Darth Vader Helmet.

In response to overwhelming demand, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release attractively priced individual two-disc releases of “Star Wars,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.” Each release includes the 2004 digitally remastered version of the movie, as well as the original theatrical edition of the film. That means you’ll be able to enjoy “Star Wars” as it first appeared in 1977, “Empire” in 1980, and “Jedi” in 1983.
After George Lucas said so many times that he would never release the originals, they are finally going to do it. They could have listened to fans for oh, say, for the last 20 years who wanted it, but no! Lucas decided fans didn’t know what they wanted, that only he knew! nyah nyah!
Reminds me of how Steve Jobs laughed at the idea of video on an iPod.
Or, when Metallica said they would never release a music video.
Never say never, especially when money is involved.
