1100 paintballs, 1100 barrels, and one 8-bit Mona Lisa
While they extremely oversimplify the assets of parallel computing, and discounting the fact that even low-cost CPU’s do plenty of parallel computing nowadays with multi-core systems, there can be no mistake of the sheer awesomeness of 1100 paintball guns firing at once.
And so I give you Adam and Jamie of the Mythbusters in their painting class 101 (filmed at Nvidia’s Nvision show):

Wiki Article of the Day - Hedy Lamarr
Wiki Articles of the Day. My attempt at making the wikipedia chain addictions into something (anti-)productive for you, the reader! (Henceforth tagged as WAOTD.)
Hedy Lamarr - Talk about a Renaissance woman. Not only a gorgeous and celebrated actress, but also an award winning scientist.
Hedy Lamarr (November 9, 1913 – January 19, 2000) was an Austrian-born American actress. Though known primarily for her great beauty and her successful film career, she also co-invented an early form of spread spectrum encoding, a key to modern wireless communication.
I may slot these into the extrinsic posts instead.

Mars is the pits
Seven dark patches were found on Mars near a volcano, and dubbed the seven sisters, by researchers last month.
This week, they focused in on one of them, and it appears to be a very deep hole. A hole that could most likely be able to reach a depth inside Mars that would be warm enough to have liquid water.
I can’t wait until the Mars Bats Invasion.
The geological oddity measures some 330 feet (100 meters) across and is located on an otherwise bright dusty lava plain to the northeast of Arsia Mons, one of the four giant Tharsis volcanoes on the red planet.
The hole might be the sort of place that could support life or serve as a habitat for future astronauts, researchers speculated.

Parhelia seen in Florida
Ok in this article, from the Miami Herald, it shows a Parhelia seen in Florida. Everyone gets all freaked out saying it’s the Armageddon and whatnot.
I saw this exact same phenomena when I was in about 7th or 8th grade. I lived in 29 Palms California. I remember I was at school, at recess, and all of a sudden everyone was trying to stare at the sun. There was kindof an eerie glow. It was bright (it’s always damn bright in the desert) but it was a very white bright… not the usual yellow sun-glow.
Looking up I saw a bright rainbow completely circling the sun. It was hard to loook at because the sun was so close to it, but shielding the sun with your hand You could see it pretty good. I had no idea what it was until today ;). Anyways, the first picture turned out really well, so let’s take a friendly rip off the Miami Herald page (I know, I know I should really host these on my site, instead of loading them from other sites, but I don’t care right now):
