Diablo III is coming

The big announcement that Blizzard has been keying up to is indeed that Diablo III is in development. This makes me happier than Starcraft 2, although I’m sure will enjoy both immensely. The official Diablo III website has a 20 minute gameplay video already, and it looks really great. The bread and butter of the Diablo series for me are the animations and immersion, and the video seems to show that in spades. Not to mention new sparkly weapons and multilayered creatures that come at you from all sides.
Two classes are revealed in an interactive way, the Barbarian and the Witch Doctor, with more to come as they draw out expectation.
No release date is announced.

And their new name? Activision Blizzard. How quaint.
This brings some of the biggest titles on both the PC and consoles all under the same company. World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Quake, etc.
Folks, we have another EA size company all of a sudden. I just hope they don’t become another EA.

Well, here’s a video cap of the Starcraft 2 announcement video at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational:

Blizzard announced that Starcraft 2 is under development, just a few minutes ago, at their Worldwide Invitational in Korea.
This after almost ten years since the original game was released, and after a cryptic countdown on the Blizzard main site this week. They are showing videos of it now to the audience in attendance, but all I can grab online are minute-by-minute recaps from some sites.
3:00 – FMV sequence in a spaceship – looks Terran – zooming in on a metal door – door opening – reveals a guy with a cigar in chains – prisoner – door shuts behind him – there’s so much bass the room is shaking – guy steps into some kind of metallic devicce – legs are strapped in – guy rising toward ceiling – Korean text on screen got people very excited – another part of the machine is dropping metal arms on him – machine whirring – applying armor to his torso – extremly detailed visuals here – now guy is strapping on gloves – armor is molding together – seems like a Terran marine – rockets turn on – zerg now onscreen – Marine delivers a line – StarCraft 2 officially announced.
Of course, there is no release date announced yet. Hopefully we’ll get the above movie posted here soon.
Diablo III rumormill

New details popping up about Diablo III. Last week I was pointed to their employment site, where they are suddenly looking for alot of artists and programmers to “work with the team responsible for Diablo II”.
Now, I see that more details are being leaked, possibly on purpose.
I know alot of people complained that Diablo was just a hack-and-slash, but really, that’s all we wanted it to be, and it is the best hack-n-slash ever made. Diablo II was alot of fun, too. I mainly loved the atmosphere, and if this turns into a MMORPG or a large scale world (think Morrowind), that would be stupendacular!
Diablo 3 takes place in heaven. Hell is trying to take it over and it is AWESOME looking Imagine the brightness of heaven being taken over by the darkness of hell Imagine WoW but in a Diablo world in amount of size and playability Also, guild housing is available in this game for those of you who know about it. They should have a gameplay demo to show at BlizzCon.
