Firefox 3 beta 1 released
Get it here. But don’t expect your plugins to work! As with all Firefox betas, it’s recommended to make a separate profile while using it.

TF2 Has it really been 10 years?
Well, it looks like the release of Team Fortress 2 after being initially announced in 1997, is upon us. I am pre-loading as we speak, and the beta release will be on Monday. It looks to be a hell of a game, and a worthy successor to the original mod.
In retrospect, I think fondly on my most favorite Quake mod and what it has become today. And this video will show what most of you never experienced in the glory of the original Team Fortress. (Please please do not say that you thought TFC was the first Team Fortress!)

Lord of the Rings Online - World Tour Begins
What is the World Tour? It’s fancy name for an open beta.
Honestly, this game isn’t all that impressive. The graphics are dated (you can tell that from the screenshots), and it doesn’t have anything that jumps out at me as being original. But hey, it’s free for now, and it’s set in the best fantasy world ever conceived. So I’m playing it!

ChaCha beta tomorrow
ChaCha, the search service I mentioned earlier, will be coming out of Alpha officially tomorrow, November 6th, 2006.
They are pretty vague about the upgrade, even to those of us who are guides. But suffice it to say they are making a big deal of promoting the beta, so it should be quite a bit different. The only thing I know is that the offline searches, those that are not done with a guide, are supposed to be much better and more filled out.
So, mosey on over to www.chacha.com tomorrow to see if the hubbub is merited.

Firefox 2.0 beta 1 released
Well, like I said yesterday, Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 has been released.
You can download it directly from Mozilla here.
Very few of my extensions work, but it looks pretty sharp so far.

Firefox 2.0 imminent
Firefox 2.0 beta is due to be released tomorrow.
This sort-of feels like an answer shot to Microsoft’s release of IE7 beta. I’ll be honest and admit I did not try the IE7 beta, and I really don’t plan to.
I will try the Firefox 2.0 beta. I have been using Flock since they released the beta of it a few weeks ago, but it’s not perfect, and I do still hold a special place in my (cold, black) heart for Firefox.
New features include a “un-close” tab button, for times when you closed a tab you decide you want back. Also, Opensearch has been implemented into the in-line search. Which may let me get my 1.57…% discount at Amazon again.
The browser has been feature-complete since alpha 1, so don’t expect too many surprise announcements. Honestly, I just want all my extensions to work and for the pages to come up snappy-like.
