Well, as it is probably apparent, the website has a new and simplified layout.
I tired of the Flash, which I really had only put up as a placeholder for better Flash down the road, but never got around to it.
The main reason for the change is I always wanted to convert the site to entirely using CSS. So this weekend I decided to go ahead and start messing with it. After formatting with CSS and liking it, I decided I wanted to try and go completely over the edge and use CSS for everything.
So I took the plunge and made the website entirely without tables! Yes, I didn’t think it was possible, but here it stands. Took a bit of forum searching about workarounds and tips, but I got everything pretty much exactly the way I wanted without using one table.
I almost gave up after I couldn’t figure how to center the website on the page. It seems like the easiest thing to do, for us that have used tables so long, but without tables there is no “halign” value. After figuring this out, and applying it to everything else on the page, It is easy to align everything to the very pixel. Which is a huge advantage over tables.
Later I will collect and post the links of the extremely helpful sites and forums that i used to accomplish this task.
For now, there is still much tweaking to do.
