Exploding Manholes
Maybe I haven’t lived in “big” cities all my life. But, I did live in D.C. proper for several years, and I definitely have lived in cities with bucu manholes. I have never heard of the phenomenom of “exploding manholes” until I saw this latest How Stuff Works article on them.
It makes sense how it would happen, and I bet the people that originally devised the concept of a manhole would never have guessed it would occur.
